Dan Hinchey, Managing Director, Bellamy Software Division
Dan's career in the computer industry began in the late 70s working part-time in a time sharing bureau (ASP today) and then starting and running Nor-Dat's first personal computer and corporate sales operation in the early 80s following college and university. Mr. Hinchey was also involved in establishing the Internet Services arm of Nor-Dat called "Internorth" which was started in the mid 90s.
Dan has been a part of Nor-Dat Computer Services Ltd. (original parent company for the Bellamy Software division) for over 20 years and also worked with NBI, AIS Consulting, and LSI Logic for 6 years. Dan has held numerous positions in these companies and has generally focused on business development, establishing new branches or operations and the restructuring of sales and service operations to establish effective business models. Dan is currently a director of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce and serves as a member of the IBM Global Partner Advisory Council.
Mr. Hinchey's considerable experience and depth of skills in software development, deployment and customer support within the local government arena is a welcome addition for Sylogist's growing municipal business.
David Elder, Vice President, Corporate Development
Mr. Elder has been practicing law for 23 years in national firms with a focus as a senior member on corporate takeovers, mergers and acquisitions, financings and public markets initiatives. He has acted for clients of all sizes, primarily in energy and resources, technology and transportation and has been providing services for Sylogist since 2003 when he was appointed Corporate Secretary. In February 2006, Dave also assumed the additional Sylogist role of Vice President, Corporate Development.
Dave's role, in conjuntion with Jim Wilson, is that of scaling the Sylogist business platform through strategic initiatives to become a dominant, Canadian and international tech support enterprise, leveraging off our current strengths, including municipal contracts and the new shared services platform, our SAP partner agreement, specialized skills, financial and managerial capacity, public market presence and our strong institutional backing. Dave's negotiating talents, energy and considerable skills with strategic acquisition and financing have made a dramatic difference and a greatly appreciated contribution to Sylogist's future development and ongoing growth.
Mr. Elder is member of the Calgary and Canadian Bar Associations with a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Calgary and a LL.B from the University of Alberta. He has taught corporate commercial law in the Bar Admission Courses for the Law Society of Alberta and is a past member of the Unauthorized Practice Committee of the Law Society of Alberta.
Malgorzata Lewandowski, Treasurer/Controller
Mal Lewandowski joined Sylogist in the spring of 2004 during the acquisition of epoint, a company acquired by Sylogist to strengthen its solutions in the mobile marketplace. As controller at epoint for over ten years, Mal worked in all aspects of the business to implement financial controls, reporting and processes. Prior to joining epoint, Mal was the Regional Accounting Manager at Crane Supply.
Mal is a Certified Management Accountant with extensive background and experience in securities. She has an honours diploma in economics from Warsaw, Poland.
